I have B.A.s in Accounting and Computer Science from Queens College. I received my CPA in 2012 and have years of experience in the field of accounting. I hold membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs. I am also a commissioned Notary Public in the State of New York. In addition to English, I speak fluent Persian and have elementary proficiency in Hebrew.

Everyone knows (and loathes) that every year, come April, you have to do your taxes. Fortunately, we're here and can help you get a jump start on your taxes, or can work in to the night to help you get it done during crunch time. You might not believe us, but we really do love doing taxes.


Our philosophy is to provide you with excellent service, fair pricing, reasonable response and preparation time, and the confidence that your tax return will be prepared accurately with the maximum benefit allowed to you by the tax law. I personally respond to every email, prepare  and review every tax return.



Firm History


After working seven years in a top accounting firm in Manhattan, Mr. Cohan decided to open his own firm. In December 2013, Abraham Cohan CPA opened its doors. After three successful seasons, the firm moved to its current location at 864 Cleveland Street, West Hempstead in New York.

The firm now offers various tax and accounting services to the public. We offer services for your monthly filing requirements with the Federal and State taxation authorities, business formation (C-Corp, S-Corp and LLC), Obtaining Tax ID, quarterly and estimated tax payments, payroll and withholding requirements, domestic employees such as babysitters and housekeepers tax issues, assistance with applying for unemployment insurance for your business or your household employees, filing sales tax returns, retirement accounts, etc.
